The PMA Kickoff
Students and mentors (experienced missionaries) participated in kickoff meetings which marked the starting point for the courses. These meetings included participants from the same city or country, and provided an opportunity for the students to become acquainted with the program, their fellow students, and their mentor. Mentors had an average of 3-5 students each, who together made up a team and were encouraged to work together. The mentors regularly communicated with their students throughout the semester, offering advice on implementing their assignments, answering questions, giving encouragement and prayer. Where logistically possible they also provided additional hands-on training through observation and critique.
